Some journeys start with a plan. Others start with a little curiosity.

About Me
Hi, I’m Tomas, and this blog is my space to share a curiosity about the world and the experiences that make travelling so rewarding.
For me, travel begins long before arriving somewhere new. It starts with an idea, a place that catches my attention, or a photograph that makes me wonder what it would feel like to be there. Then come the possibilities: which route to take, what to explore, what to eat, and how much to leave open for whatever happens along the way.
But the part I look forward to most is when a destination becomes more than a name on a map. You begin to notice its rhythm: the streets filling up in the morning, the sounds coming through an open café door, the way the landscape changes as you leave a city behind. Those details give a place its character, and they’re a big part of what makes me want to keep exploring.
More Than a List of Places
There’s plenty of excitement in seeing a famous landmark for the first time. Still, a trip doesn’t need to revolve entirely around the sights everyone recognises. An afternoon with no particular destination can be just as memorable as something booked months in advance.
I like the idea of making space for both: having a few things to look forward to while leaving enough freedom to follow a recommendation, take a different turn, or stay somewhere a little longer. Sometimes the best part of a day is something you couldn’t have planned.
Food is another way to get to know a place. A local dish, a busy market, or a small restaurant can become a reason to explore a neighbourhood you might otherwise have passed by. Even an ordinary meal can become a lasting memory because of where you were and who you shared it with.
Why I Share the Journey
I wanted a place to bring together the stories, discoveries, and practical details that come with travel. Somewhere to capture the feeling of a destination while also answering the questions that come up when you’re thinking about visiting it yourself.
That’s the spirit behind this blog. Through travel stories, destination guides, and useful tips, I aim to help you picture the possibilities and put together a trip that feels right for you. Sometimes that means inspiration for somewhere new. Other times, it means a small piece of advice that makes planning simpler or helps you make better use of your time.
I also want to leave room for the less polished side of travelling. Plans change, the weather doesn’t always cooperate, and a place can feel different from what you expected. Those moments belong in the story too. They often teach you something useful, give you a reason to slow down, or lead to an experience you would otherwise have missed.
Finding Your Own Way
Everyone travels differently. Some people love a detailed itinerary; others are happiest with a loose plan and a bag packed. You might be looking for a busy city break, time outdoors, a longer adventure, or simply a few days somewhere unfamiliar.
My hope is that you’ll find ideas here that you can make your own. You don’t have to see everything or follow someone else’s route for a trip to be worthwhile. There’s value in choosing what interests you, taking your time when you can, and allowing yourself to enjoy a place without constantly thinking about the next stop.
Travel gives us a chance to pay closer attention—to our surroundings, to other people, and to the things we enjoy. It can challenge assumptions, introduce us to different ways of living, and make familiar routines look a little different when we return home.
This blog is a place to keep that sense of curiosity alive, both while travelling and between trips.
Whether you’re here to plan your next adventure, discover a destination, or enjoy a few stories from the road, welcome. I hope these pages help you find somewhere you’d love to go—and encourage you to explore it in your own way.
